Iowa State University Extension in Marion County is hosting a farmland leasing meeting on Wednesday morning, August 3, beginning at 9 am. The meeting will be held at the Comfort Inn in Pella located at 910 W. 16th St. and lasts approximately 2 ½ hours.
Attendees will learn about current land value and cash rental rate surveys, types of lease arrangements, determining fair cash rent and strategies for writing and terminating a farm lease. The meeting will be facilitated by Steve Johnson, ISU Extension Farm & Ag Management Specialist.
The registration fee is $20 per person or $30 per couple and includes a 90-page workbook. Please pre-register by phone on or before August 1st to avoid the $5 late fee that will be added to registration fee. You may also register in advance by mail and make your checks payable to ISU Extension and send to the Marion County Extension Office, 1445 Lake Dr., Knoxville, IA.
