Lake Red Rock Activities

Creatures of the Night Hike

Friday, June 19 - 9:00 p.m. - North Overlook Campground

Hike along a woodland trail in search of the night shift. Follow the tracks left behind by the critters of the night and listen for owl calls and other lurking creatures. Don’t forget to bring your flashlight!

Let’s Walk the New Trail!

Sat., June 20 - 9:00 a.m. - Meet at Cordova Boat Ramp (near shelter)

Start off the morning with a good stretch of the legs! Join Park Ranger Tracy Spry for a walk a portion of the newly cleared path for the next section of the Volksweg Trail! While the trail has yet to be completed, the sights and sounds of this newly accessible piece of wilderness will offer you a new spot to explore!

Wetland Exploration

Sat., June 20 - 1:00 p.m. - Howell Station Campground

(Meet by Prairie Trail sign across from middle camping loop) Spend a little time “mucking” this weekend at one of the lake area’s wetlands! Dip nets and tubs will be available for you to try and catch critters swimming and crawling around the water! Mucking can be messy - please wear old shoes and clothes.
