Pella — Arend

Nick and Dana Arend of Milwaukie, OR are the parents of a son, Carter Joseph, born August 12, 2010 at OHSU Hospital in Portland, OR. He weighed 8lb. 8oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long. His grandparents are Francis “Fry” and Avis Van Wyk of Des Moines, Tom Arend of Oregon City, and Brian and Chau Otto of Sherwood, OR. Great-grandparents are Tunnet Van Wyk of Otley; Thuyen and Nhiem Nguyen of Oceanside, CA; Pauline Arend of Ventura, CA; and Betty Otto of Sherwood, OR. Carter was welcomed home by big sister  Audrey, age 3.



Schreur

Dan and Crystal Schreur of Pella are the proud parents of a baby boy. Lucas Daniel arrived on May 25, 2010 at 6:51pm, weighed 10 pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long. Lucas is welcomed home by big brother Robert, age 3 1/2 years old. Grandparents are Calvin and Mary Van Haaften of Pella and Char Schreur and the late Robert Schreur of Kanawha. Great-grandmother is Berta Rietema of Kanawha.



Parkhurst

David and Lisa (Wichhart) Parkhurst of Gathersburg, Maryland, are the proud parents of twin boys, Riley Edward and Reece Lawyer, born on June 7. Riley weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz. and Reece weighed 6 lbs. Grandparents are Sally Wichhart and the late Ralph Wichhart of Pella, and Doug and Roz Parkhurst of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.



Vander Wilt

Tom & Karlene Vander Wilt, Lynden, WA, are the proud parents of a baby girl, Jenna Grace, born July 27, 2010. Jenna weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces and was 22 inches long. Alivia age 5 and Grant age 3 welcomed Jenna home. Maternal grandparents are Del & Karen Heutink, Sumas, WA.  Paternal grandparents are Arvin & Carolyn Vander Wilt, Pella.



Dingeman

John and Angie Dingeman of Harvey, IA, are the proud parents of a baby boy, Reece Allen Dingeman. Born on June 28, Reece weighed 7 lbs. 10.5 oz. and was 20 ½ in. long. Grandparents are Brenda Brown of Pleasant Hill, Gary Vander Heiden, Sr. of Harvey, Mary Van Berkum of Pella and Dan Dingeman of Pella. Great-grandparents are Phyllis Forcht of Knoxville and Catharina Benes-Monster of Pella. Four siblings welcomed Reece home: Alli, age 13; Cayden, 9; Ashlyn, 7; and Kaylee, age 4.

Tom and Ashley Ehlers of Cascade are the parents of a daughter, Hayden Brooke, born April 17, 2010, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. Grandparents are Delwin and Joyce Vonk of Oskaloosa, and Gerald Jr. and Lori Ehlers of Monticello. Great-grandparents are Henry and Leona Van Arkel and Melvin and June Vonk, all of Oskaloosa, and Thomas and Doris (D.J.) McElmeel and Gerald and Elaine Ehlers, all of Anamosa.



Phillips

Aaron and Beth Phillips of Lincoln, NE are the parents of a daughter, Olivia Dawn, born May 6, 2010, at Bryan LGH Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. Grandparents are Arlen and Luan Phillips of Oskaloosa and Dave and Sandy Thompson of Stromsburg, NE. Great-grandparents are Henry and Leona Van Arkel and Wayne and the late Betty Phillips, all of Oskaloosa, Bill and Jan Thompson of Stromsburg, NE and Gary and Donna Leitschuck of Beatrice, NE.



Van Zante

Rob and Kari Van Zante, with their 2-year old son Asher Aiden, blessed the arrival of a little girl, Amaya Joy, born June 24, weighing 8 lbs. 10 oz. Grandparents are Wilmer and Joan Niewenhuis of Platte, SD and Charles and Sandi Van Zante of Pella. Great-grandparents are Bertha Ligtenberg, Gene and Evelyn Niewenhuis, both of Platte, SD and Martena De Groot, and Jennie Van Zante, both of Pella.



Baumgardner

Suzanne and Jeff Baumgardner of Lexington, Kentucky are happy to announce the birth of their daughter, Rachel Marie Baumgardner. Born on July 14, 2010, Rachel weighed 7 lbs. 4oz.  and was 19 inches long.  Proud grandparents are Moe and Ruth Van De Kieft of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Barbara Baumgardner of Pensacola, Florida; and great-grandmother, Margaret Van De Kieft of Pella, Iowa.
