Gas leak starts fire at Main St. and Big Rock Rd.

Pella — The Pella Police Dept., Fire Dept. and Pella Ambulance responded to a fire shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. One individual was transported from the scene with reported burns to the neck and/or face area.

A gas line looked to have ignited near the scene of the flames.

Once on scene, a crew from Alliant Energy clamped off the gas line and stopped the flames completely. The scene was cleared around 1:45 p.m.

Main St. was closed to traffic until the scene was cleared and the fire was out.
