Pella —
Leighton State Bank, with locations in Leighton and Pella, recently received an Iowa Bankers Association Best of Iowa bank marketing award. The “Gold Award” was received for the category of “Print” without agency. This honor was awarded from a field of nearly 90 entries representing excellence in bank marketing. A panel of judges comprised of advertising, public relations, marketing, design and media professionals decided the award winners.
The awards breakfast for the Iowa Bankers Association’s annual Best of Iowa marketing competition was held in West Des Moines at the Sheraton on May 6, 2011. Banks from around the state participated in this competition, which included multi-media, print, and non-print categories.
The Gold Award was presented for an entry that was submitted by Vice President and Marketing Officer Carri Vande Ree, titled: “Kids Club – Make Savings Fun”. The account was designed to help create a fun way for children to learn to save at an early stage in life and to continue to learn about being financially responsible as they grow older.
The print entry titled, “Kids Club-Make Savings Fun” was implemented using newspaper ads, feature articles in the quarterly newsletter, the bank website, statement stuffers and thru drive up banners. “Kids Club is the first step to our plan to help our customers of all ages establish good financial practices and make wise financial choices,” said Steve Fopma, CEO. “We plan to sponsor additional programs for a range of age groups, from high school students through senior citizens.”
