Distinguished statewide program graduates local leader

Pella — The Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) Foundation announces that Martin Wesemann, Pella Corporation, Pella was one of the 39 members of the 2011-12 Leadership Iowa class.  The class graduation was held recently in Des Moines, at the Annual ABI Taking Care of Business Conference.

Leadership Iowa, a program of the ABI Foundation for 30 years, is a statewide, premier issues-awareness program. The program is designed to instill passion in current and emerging leaders while fostering a high level of civic engagement. The 2011-12 class attended an integrated series of monthly two-day sessions from October through June at various locations throughout Iowa. They learned from experts about healthcare, education, government, economic development and entrepreneurship, agriculture and biotechnology, community visioning and more.

“ABI and the ABI Foundation proudly present the Leadership Iowa program because each of the past 30 years we’ve identified many of our state’s best leaders and helped to equip them with the knowledge and tools to make a difference in our state,” says Michael Ralston, President, Iowa Association of Business and Industry. Ralston is a graduate of the 1990-91 Leadership Iowa class.
