Mary Vermeer Andringa received the Ambassador C. Howard Wilkins, Jr. Award for Outstanding Professional Accomplishments in Corporate Leadership. Mary Andringa has reached the peak of American business by becoming CEO of Vermeer Corporation, the Pella, Iowa industrial and agricultural equipment company her father founded 64 years ago. She manages a global corporation that opened its first overseas operation in Goes, the Netherlands, in 1970, and now markets to customers worldwide, operating 1.5 million square feet of manufacturing space.
Each year, the NAF Gala Awards Dinner celebrates Dutch-American heritage and friendship by honoring individuals who have made distinguished contributions to furthering business, political and cultural relations between the Netherlands and the United States.

Mary Andringa next co-chair of the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council
Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds today announced that Mary Vermeer Andringa, president and CEO of Vermeer Corporation in Pella, will serve as co-chair of the Governor’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Advisory Council when University of Northern Iowa President Ben Allen steps down from that role on June 30, 2013. Andringa will assume the role of co-chair next July 1.
