EDDYVILLE —
One man charged in a drug bust in Eddyville last month has pleaded not guilty and the other has been ordered to wear a monitoring device upon release.
William Cody Landgrebe, 26, of Eddyville, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a Class B felony, and two counts of drug tax stamp violation, a Class D felony.
Law enforcement carried out a search on Landgrebe’s residence on Nov. 28 after securing a warrant from evidence found during a traffic stop the week prior.
Hector Garcia, 22, was also at the residence and was charged with felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. He was also arrested on two outstanding warrants.
While searching for narcotics, a Wapello County Sheriff’s deputy saw other items that reminded him of a case he and Sheriff Mark Miller had heard about during a late summer burglary investigation in Eddyville.
A second search warrant was obtained to seize that property.
Landgrebe pleaded not guilty. His pretrial conference is set for 10:30 a.m. April 1 and his trial is set for 9:30 a.m. April 16. He is being held in Wapello County Jail on a $210,000 bond.
Garcia was given an order for discharge from the Wapello County Jail and will report to the Department of Corrections immediately upon release, under the condition that he use a GPC monitoring device.
