Man receives 5 years for pot operation

Co-defendant to serve 18 months incarceration

KEOSAUQUA — A Keosauqua man was sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for his role in a marijuana operation on his property.

Richard Cone, 16855 Heather Ave. in Keosauqua, was sentenced to 75 months in federal prison on Dec. 11 in U.S. District Court in Davenport.

Cone pleaded guilty in August to conspiring with co-defendant Kim Lane Hollrah to “knowingly manufacture and distribute at least 100 kilograms of marijuana.” Hollrah also pleaded guilty to his role in the scheme.

Cone was also ordered to serve four years in supervised release upon release from prison.

Hollrah pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute at least 100 kilograms of a mixture or substance containing marijuana. The court sentenced Hollrah to 18 months incarceration, and he was ordered to serve four years of supervised release. He was fined $10,000. The U.S. attorney’s office objected to the sentence imposed in his case, according to court documents.
