Bingham pleads guilty

KNOXVILLE — Robert Bingham pleaded guilty to two counts of enticement of a minor in Marion County District Court this morning.

The charges were filed after authorities learned Bingham had sex with a 12 year old girl in 2008. The victim only recently came forward.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 19 at 9:30 a.m. The state is recommending 10 years in prison per count, though the sentence may be suspended in favor of five years of probation.

Bingham will have to register as a sex offender and undergo sex offender treatment.
