Marion County Master Gardeners are hosting their 2011 Garden Tour the weekend of July 9-10. Seven local gardens will be open to the general public for the tour.
This year the gardens are all in the Knoxville area. The gardens can be visited in any order after making a $10 donation to Marion County Habitat for Humanity at the Bessie Spaur Butterfly Garden. The Butterfly Garden is located on the south lawn of the Knoxville Area Community Hospital. Upon making the donation, visitors are encouraged to tour the Butterfly Garden and visit the Blue Star Memorial which will be dedicated on Saturday, July 9.
Upon making the donation at the Butterfly Garden anytime on Saturday, July 9 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. or on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., the other gardens will be open. The tour is self guided; the Tour Map is good all weekend. No dogs, please. Children under 12 are admitted free.
