To the editor,
This is a letter of appreciation for the teachers and children of Creation Station. Today they came to Vriendschap Village to entertain and intermingle. It was a time of happy faces, joyful voices and loving handshakes for young and old.
The 36 children were a delight to observe. They had been carefully prepared for their singing program and their welcoming handshakes: "You shake hands with the hand that you hold over your heart for the flag salute." (Note: they are learning two or three social skills in a loving and meaningful context. Maybe more!) They were respectful, well-disciplined and having a good time doing it. Great atmosphere for developing the art of learning and giving of oneself for life.
We all enjoyed the valentine story with hands-on illustration. I wonder how many of those attending, young and older, went home to cut their own valentines and began sharing them with family and friends. It is a fun and economical way to show love and caring during the Valentine's Month.
This is another excellent example of why Pella is a wonderful place to live and especially to retire. Thank you teachers and children of Creation Station.
