Sinterklaas to arrive Nov. 24

Pella — The Pella Historical Society will sponsor the 36th annual Sinterklaas Day on Saturday, November 24, 2012.

The festivities will begin with parade line up at 9:45 a.m. at the Historical Village, 507 Franklin Street.  At 10:00 the strolling Volks Parade starts on Franklin Street at the Historical Village and goes to the Tulip Toren downtown for a brief program and welcome for Sinterklaas.  There is no rain date for the outside activities.

All children dressed as costumed Christmas characters will receive treats for their participation.  Parade registration is due November 23; call the Historical Village at 641-628-2409.

Following the welcome at the Tulip Toren, advance tickets are required for breakfast with Sinterklaas at the Royal Amsterdam Hotel.  After breakfast the group will stroll with Sinterklaas to the Pella Opera House second floor theater for the Sinterklaas program and recognition of each child with a special gift.

Sinterklaas Breakfast & Party tickets are now available on a limited first come, first served basis at the Pella Historical Society Business Office, 507 Franklin Street.  Tickets are $10.00 each.  Everyone attending the breakfast and party must have a ticket.
