August 16 Pella Farmer's Market
Wonderful summer produce, baked rolls and bread, homemade pies, gluten- free products, plants for the flower garden and vegetable garden and crafts. There will be more surprises, come and join in the fun! Location is First Reformed Church parking lot, 605 Broadway Street. Occurs every Thursday from 3-6 pm and every Saturday 9-noon. Free to the public.
August 16 Bingo Night
Have fun playing Bingo! Proceeds benefit St. Mary's Catholic Church. Children 10-17 welcome with parent. Held every Thursday from 6:30-9 pm at 1203 Peace Street (Old building). August 17 Lake Red Rock: Red Rock's Wildlife
Many different animals call the Lake Red Rock area their home! Identify furs of area mammals and learn about some of their adaptations used for survival. There will be also be a special guest appearance by some live snakes! Meet 7 pm at Howell Station (meet at turnaround at the end of the park's entrance- bring a lawn chair).

Every Friday in June-August is Wine & Burger Night. It's off to Italy! Tonight we're featuring an Italian Sirloin Burger topped with Melted Mozzarella and Tomato & Herb Bruschetta. August 18 NFL Punt Pass & Kick Competition
Young pro football fans will have the opportunity to exhibit their football skills when the Community Services Department hosts an NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition on August 18th at 9:00 am at the Pella High Football Field. The competition is open to boys and girls ages 6-15. Entry forms are available online at www.cityofpella.com, at the Pella Community Center, 712 Union St., or you may register at the competition. The top finishers from each of the ten (10) age groups at the local competition will advance to a sectional competition. The winners at the sectional competition will have their scores compared with other sectional champions; the top four scorers from the pool of sectional champions will advance. Registration Dates: April 23rd - August 18th/ Free.
August 18 Lake Red Rock: Lets Go Paddling!
This activity gives you the chance to experience both canoeing and kayaking in the same day! Give one or both types of watercraft a try and see how much fun paddling can be! (Must be at least 10 years old to use the kayaks. Life Jackets will be provided.) Meet at Roberts Creek East Boat Ramp, from 2-4 pm. Free to the public.

August 25 Golf For Life and Pathways of Pella present 4 Person Best Shot Tournament
Raise money for Pathways of Pella and have a good time with your buddies at their 4 Person Best Shot Golf Tournament. Will take place Saturday August 25 at 8 am at Bos Landen Golf Club. Pella Golf and Country Club is hosting a 4 man best shot tournament Saturday August 25 at 9 am. Cost is $120.00 per team and includes food. Additional green fees of $10 apply for non-members. Union Street Players will present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor (r) Dreamcoat for six performances between Nov. 30 and Dec. 8. The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless. Auditions are open to all!
