Klein sentenced to up to 20 years

Knoxville —

Joshua Michael Klein, formerly of Pleasantville, was sentenced today in Marion County District Court to an indeterminate prison sentence not to exceed 20 years.  Klein plead guilty to three counts of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree.  In addition to immediate incarceration Klein will be required to register as a sex offender, provide a DNA sample, complete sex offender treatment, and upon his discharge from prison remain on parole for the rest of his natural born life.

Klein was convicted on having sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl over a period of time between April and July of 2012.

"I hope that this sentence sends a strong message to the community that I continue to aggressively prosecute crimes committed by sexual predators," Marion County Attorney Ed Bull commented. "Plain and simple, the message I hope to be sending loud and clear is that  adults should not be having sex with children.  I wish to thank the outstanding law enforcement work performed by the Pleasantville Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.  I also wish to commend the victim and her family for the courage to come forward and confront her accuser."
