The Chamber of Commerce, Positively Pella and Young Professionals of Pella were approved for a special event permit for the "Pella in Pink" two-mile Run/Walk scheduled for Saturday, October 13, during last week's Pella City Council meeting.
"Pella in Pink" promotes awareness and raises funds for local breast cancer awareness and prevention programs. An estimated 500 participants are expected. The two-mile Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m. at West Market Park.

Sadler honored with remaing of cottage
A retirement party was held last Thursday evening for Patsy Sadler honoring her for her 36 years of service as the Pella Historical Society Village Director. In honor of Patsy and Dean's contributions to the society, the Historical Society Board renamed her former workplace as the 'Sadler Cottage'. Approximately 180 well-wishers attended the open house.
