Honor Veterans by voting on Election Day, observe Veterans Day

Pella — The members of Pella's Van Veen - Van Hemert American Legion Post 89 and the Howard D. Ver Steegh VFW Post 5242, both of Pella, encourage the public to honor veterans by voting this coming Election Day or before November 6.

PVT (Private) Gerrit Van Hemert and PVT John Van Veen were the first two soldiers from Pella who were killed in the Great War (World War One). US Navy Signalman First Class Howard D. Ver Steegh was the first Pella young man of the 23 total who lost their lives during the Second World War. Pella still honors them, their families and all the others who gave for our Nation.

Pella can honor their memory and sacrifices by voting, and taking time on that special day, Veterans Day, to remember and give thanks.
