The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced a consent order with Pella Corporation requiring investigation of potential soil and groundwater concerns at the Pella, Iowa, site at 102 Main Street.
Pella Corporation is committed to working with the EPA. Under the process, an outside consultant will conduct a review and Pella Corporation has committed to take appropriate action.
The City of Pella would like to clarify the status of our drinking water supply in light of this consent order. The City’s drinking water is regularly tested and meets all federal and state guidelines for municipal drinking water.
At this time, The City of Pella is not concerned with potential contamination from the Pella Corporation facilities. The City will continue to monitor the situation, and conduct our normal water quality testing to ensure the water supply continues to be a safe and reliable source for the community.
