Marion County Extension will offer the Ornamental and Turfgrass Applicators Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, March 6, 2013. The program can be seen at locations across Iowa through the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pest Management and the Environment (PME) program.
The local county extension site is at 210 N. Iowa St, Knoxville. Registration begins at 1 p.m., and the course runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The registration fee is $35 on or before Feb. 27 and $45 after Feb. 27. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact Dale Miller at the ISU Extension and Outreach office in Knoxville by phoning 641-842-2014.
The course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 3O, 3T, 3OT and 10. Topics to be covered include safe storage and handling of pesticides and PPE; laws and regulations; pesticide stewardship; pest management and pesticides.
