Accident sends one to the hospital

Pella — At approximately 1:45 a.m. Saturday night/Sunday morning, members of the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Pella Police, Pella Ambulance and Pella Fire responded to a report of a single vehicle, rollover accident southeast of Pella.

“Luckily, we were able to find him,” Sheriff Jason Sandholdt said. Sandholdt indicated that the unidentified driver did not know where he was. The driver was on the phone with his wife, who was providing information to first responders to help find the driver.

Sandholdt said the cause of the accident is still under investigation. The driver was taken by Pella Ambulance to Pella Regional Health Center, then a hospital in Des Moines. Pella EMS Chief Doug Polking could not provide any further details due to privacy laws.
