Home alone for Thanksgiving? Join us for a FREE Thanksgiving meal. Call the Church office for more information or to make reservations at 641-628-3493. November 24 Pella Lions Club Community Breakfast

Pella Lions fundraiser to benefit the Pella Boy Scouts, Pella Food Shelf, and Iowa Kids Sight. 6:30- 10:30 am at the Pella Memorial Building, free will offering accepted.





November 24 Celebrate with Sinterklaas

The Dutch "Santa" arrives in Pella on Saturday, November 24.  The Volks parade forms at the Historical Village and marches to the Tulip Toren for a brief welcome.  For information on the Sinterklaas Breakfast & Party call 641-628-2409.  Limited tickets @ $10.00 each. Starts at 10 am.





November 25 Pella Opera House presents David Folkerts and Friends

Kick off the holiday season with an annual Opera House tradition hearing the Mighty Barton- Iowa's best restored theatre organ-as well as other vocalists, instrumentalists, and YOU singing along to many Yuletide favorites! Concerts at 3 pm and 7 pm. Ticket price: $10 adults, $5 students.

November 29 Bingo Night

Have fun playing Bingo! Proceeds benefit St. Mary's Catholic Church. Children 10-17 welcome with an adult. It is held every Thursday from 6:30-9 pm at 1203 Peace Street (old church). November 29 Central College presents NPR reporter

The Central College Writers Reading series will host Rob Dillard, a Des Moines based correspondent for Iowa Public Radio (IPR). Dillard formerly taught news writing at Central. Unlike other Writers Reading sessions, Dillard will be playing snippets of his writing as recorded on IPR, particularly his "Being in Iowa" series. Dillard will be on campus Nov. 29 and will speak in the Geisler Reading Room at 7:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public.





November 30 - December 9 Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Union Street Players will present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat this Christmas season  at the Pella Community Center on Friday, Nov. 30, Saturday, Dec. 1, Thursday, Dec. 6 and Friday. Dec. 7 at 7 pm plus matinees on Sunday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 pm. This Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless. December 1 Brunch & Winter Style Show

Fun fashion, delicious food, and great friends make for a perfect Saturday morning! Get the girls together and attend this brunch and fashion show featuring clothing and accessories from Pella's stores & boutiques! 9:30 am at Monarchs; tickets $15 in advance/$20 at the door, available at Pella Chamber of Commerce office.





December 1 Live Nativity Scene and Photo Opportunity

"Step into the Stable" and participate in a live Nativity scene at Second Reformed Church on the corner of Broadway and Liberty from 1-4 pm. Costumes will be available for children to wear as they join Mary, Joseph and live farm animals for a manger moment. Or parents can fill in as Mary and Joseph as families create their own scene. It's a free Christmas photo opportunity as there is no admission charge. Hot chocolate and cookies will also be provided a few steps away inside the church's Gathering Space





December 1 Flying Pans Caribbean Christmas

Enjoy the holiday sounds of this steel band's Christmas concert at Central's Graham Banquet Hall, 7:30 pm. Admission is $5 or an unwrapped new toy for Toys for Tots.





December 2 Steve Green Christmas Concert

Get in the Christmas Spirit at the Steve Green Christmas Concert! 2 pm at  Pella Christian High School's  Vermeer Auditorium.  Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.  You may purchase tickets at the Sanctuary Coffeehouse Christian Books and Gifts or by calling Patty Zylstra at 641-628-8087 ext 105 or email pzylstra@christianopportunity.org.  All proceeds will benefit Christian Opportunity Center.  These would make wonderful early Christmas gifts!

November 12- December 14 Central College's Mills Gallery Exhibit

Husband and wife duo Dukno Yoon and Heather Bayless will exhibit their works in the Mills Gallery from November 12 - December 14. The couple works with metal structures. Their work can be seen during gallery hours, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public.



November 16- December 1 Festival of Trees: Its a Wonderful Life

Warm up amid the twinkling displays, available for purchase, that transform the Pella Opera House into a merry holiday wonderland! An annual fundraiser for children's theatre programming. Ticket price is a free-will donation. Schedule: November 16- December 1 from 10 am to 6 pm. November 16, Opening Night: Open until 8 pm. November 19, Family Night: Open until 8 pm. December 1: Open until 2 pm. Closed Sundays and Thanksgiving Day.
