Pella —
Marion County Development Commission received grants totaling $2,000 from the Central Iowa Tourism Region (CITR) Promotion and Tourism Training Grant Programs. The grants will be used toward two projects. The first project is the design and printing of the 2013 Red Rock Area travel guide. The second project is funding to bring Roger Brooks, Destination Development International, to the Red Rock Area for an opportunity assessment.
“The grant programs are competitive and we are pleased to award the Marion County Development Commission funding for their projects,” said Ann Vogelbacher, CITR Executive Director. “The grants require a cash match and help leverage local funds for tourism promotional projects.”
CITR is a non-profit organization that works closely with counties, communities, attractions, events and tourism businesses on tourism development and marketing initiatives. The Central Region encompasses a 35 county area between the Minnesota and Missouri borders. Visit www.iowatourism.com for more information.
