Pella —
Blind musician and storyteller Ken Medema will be playing his customized music for the Central community on Feb. 26.
Though blind from birth, Medema enjoys singing and telling stories through audience interaction. Medema custom designs every musical moment on his piano through improvisation and creates new compositions at each event. Medema uses music and storytelling to help build communities of compassion, while specifically using his skills as a music therapist in order to communicate with the unique needs of his diverse audiences.
Medema has shared his passion for learning and discovery through storytelling and music with an ever-growing circle of followers around the world. He has been performing for more than 40 years for a variety of audiences, playing for groups ranging from 50 to 50,000 people. Medema has contributed to and recorded more than 40 CDs.
The event will be held in Douwstra Auditorium at 8 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
