Pella —
On December 7, 2012 the Red Rock Arts Alliance hosted its first "Festive Whimsy and Fine Art" show at the Pella Memorial Building. Part of the festival was a judged Gingerbread House contest with all winners being from Pella. The houses were rather architecturally whimsey. Elizabeth Quayle's house resembled a cat, Hope Quayle's house resembled a log house with walls of gingerbread; and the Jane and Cole Denner houses both added a feature of gingerbread men having a snowball fight. The People's Choice (Ethan Quayle) was more traditional with finer architectural features such as caulking of red candy strings and a basketball hoop complete with a basketball.
The Red Rock Arts Alliance is a non-profit network of artists, organizations, and art supporters and membership is open to artists of all types and community members, educators, and businesses who appreciate the arts and support them. Members meet monthly on the second Wednesday at 7 p.m., alternating between Knoxville and Pella. To learn more about Red Rock Arts Alliance go to Facebook.
