Pella —
Vriendschap Village, in partnership with Peace Lutheran Church, houses medical equipment that is designed to be loaned out to Pella-area residents as needed.
As a part of AMEN Ministries (Assistive Medical Equipment Needs), Vriendschap Village’s Medical Lending Library has most types of medical equipment including bed rails, bed tables, canes, crutches, grabbers, hand rails, rolling walkers, shower chairs, toilets, walkers, wheelchairs and other miscellaneous equipment.
Pella-area residents can visit Vriendschap Village and rent any medical equipment at no cost. There is also no timeframe as to when the pieces must be returned – they can be kept as long as needed.
“We are so happy to help people by offering them the use of a shower chair, walker or any other type of equipment that they temporarily need,” says Brenda Colvin, executive director. “Not only is it the right thing to do, we love to be a community resource and we’re meeting a lot of great people as part of the process.”
The Medical Lending Library at Vriendschap Village retirement community of Pella is open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
