Winter weather update

Pella — Marion County pavements have benefited from the above freezing temperatures this afternoon.  However, snow packed and ice roads should be anticipated, especially as temperatures drop in the evening and overnight.  We plan to keep four trucks out until 6:00 PM to push back drifts on highways.  Snow removal on both paved and rock roads will begin again at 4 a.m.  Snow packed and icy conditions should be expected on rock roads.  The Sheriff’s Office has placed the tow ban in effect.  Extreme caution should be used.

Also, the City of Pella Snow Ordinance will go into effect tonight at midnight.
