Pella — The machinery that operates the dam’s tainter gates (large flood gates) is in the process of being repainted. The components are located below the highway T-15 bridge on the dam's concrete structure, and they receive a lot of severe weathering. Thomas Industrial from Saint Louis, Missouri will perform the work. They recently started assembling platforms and other set-up tasks in preparation for task. Sadler honored with remaing of cottage
A retirement party was held last Thursday evening for Patsy Sadler honoring her for her 36 years of service as the Pella Historical Society Village Director. In honor of Patsy and Dean's contributions to the society, the Historical Society Board renamed her former workplace as the 'Sadler Cottage'. Approximately 180 well-wishers attended the open house.
