Pella — Valda M (Halverson) Vander Waal, 85, of Pella, IA, passed away late Tuesday evening, January 1, 2013, at Jefferson Place in Pella. Valda, wife of the late Ralph L. Vander Waal, is survived by three children: Dr. Steven Vander Waal and his wife, Michele, of Manzanita, OR; Gayle and her husband Stanley Poortinga of Pella; Jeffery Vander Waal and his wife, Tiffani, of Elk Grove, CA; five grandchildren and two great-granchildren.
Visitation was held after 1:00 p.m. Friday January 4, 2013 at the Third Reformed Church with the family present from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Third Reformed Church in Pella, Iowa.
Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery at Pella, IA.
For those desiring, memorials may be given to The Cottages, Hearthstone's Future Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Community.
