Pella — Gilbert P. Vander Wal, 84, of Pella, IA passed away Thursday evening of injuries received in a vehicle/pedestrian accident in Pella. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Iris J. (De Jong) Vander Wal of Pella; and their four children: Loren and Marilee (De Groot) Vander Wal, Kris and Dale De Wild all of Pella, Lisa and Bruce Groenendyk of Leighton, IA, Bruce and Noreen (Van Weelden) Vander Wal of New Sharon, IA, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home. Visitaion with family present will be Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church, Peoria, Iowa. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery at Pella, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Peoria Christian Reformed Church to be designated for the sound system or Safe Water International Ministries.
