Marjorie Van Wyk

Pella — Marjorie J. Van Wyk was born on September 10, 1920, to John and Dora Klein Willemsen near Sully, Iowa.  She passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Jefferson Place in Pella at the age of ninety-two.

On November 15, 1940, Marjorie was united in marriage with Wilber Ramer.  They were blessed with one son, Dwayne.  Wilber passed away on April 17, 1965.  On June 22, 1968, she married Herbert Van Wyk.  Herbert passed away September 9, 2006.

Marjorie made confession of faith in 1938 at the First Reformed Church in Sully with the Reverend W.R.A De Jong presiding.  As a member of the First Reformed Church in Sully, she was active in the Ladies Guild.

Marjorie resided in Pella since 1970.  For the last six years she was a resident at Jefferson Place in Pella.  She enjoyed being a housewife and providing for her family.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Dwayne; her step-children: Jerald and Dorothy Van Wyk of Pella, Silvan and Gina Van Wyk of Rapids City, South Dakota, Harley Van Wyk of Pella, and Dennis Van Wyk of Warner Springs, California; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Wilber Ramer and Herbert Van Wyk; a step-son, Marvin Van Wyk; step-daughter-in-law, Jan Van Wyk; two step-grandchildren: Sandi Van Wyk and Jeff Van Wyk; and her brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Helen Willemsen.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the First Reformed Church in Sully.

Burial took place at the Hewitt Cemetery near Sully.  The Pella Garden Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
