Pella —
Welcome!
I’m always looking for tips and ideas to make my life better. How about you? Making life more enjoyable is a worthy pursuit, as is making a task more productive or finding a better way to handle a situation. That said, I am hoping that this new column, Ouder en Wijzer, will help you find some better way, or a few new ideas, which will enrich your life and make it better!
Let me introduce myself. My name is Kathi Gross and I am the Activity Director at Vriendschap Village, an Independent and Assisted Living facility located in Pella. I am a teacher, a writer, a wife, a mother (3 teenagers!), a friend, a woman of Faith, and a preacher’s daughter. I’m an Arizona native but have claimed Iowa as my own. Since I married an Iowa boy, I’m allowed to do that! I love planning activities for our residents and I tend to look at my job as . . . well, just too much fun. I see this column as a way to share some of things I’ve been learning from the senior citizens who live here at Vriendschap Village and what I’ve gleaned from my years of listening to and learning from the seniors in my family and in my life.
So, here we go! Look for this column each month. If you have comments or ideas to share, please feel free to contact me by email at kathigross@vriendschapvillage.com or at 641-628-8260.
