The Pella Chronicle, Knoxville Journal-Express and Marion County Republicans held a candidate forum, featuring the candidates for Marion County Supervisor and Sheriff at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum in Knoxville. Supervisor candidates Jim Kingery, Adam Wadle and Mark Raymie, as well as Sheriff candidates Randy Puyear and Jason Sandholdt, were present. Look for more on the forum in next week's Pella Chronicle.

Legislators stop in Pella
The Pella Chamber hosted its second Legislative Coffee this session with Senator Paul McKinley and Representative Jim Van Engelenhoven on Friday afternoon at Monarchs Restaurant. Topics discussed ranged from details about 'Funnel Week', property tax reform, education reform, mental health programs, EPA regulations, gas taxes and tourism funding. The next Legislative Coffee is slated for April 13, as the first Friday in April falls on Good Friday from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Monarchs.
