Pella —
Who is RVL anyway and why is he coming to Pella? And why would you want to give up a couple hours on a warm July day to participate in one of these RVL events?
Ray Vander Laan is coming to Pella July 6 and 7 for the Pella Christian Grade School’s 100th Anniversary celebration! Ray has been a teacher for 35 years and is also an ordained minister with the Christian Reformed Church. He has authored a book entitled Echoes of His Presence and filmed the highly acclaimed That the World May Know video series onsite in the Holy Land. Over 10,000 people have had the privilege to participate in his energizing study tours of Israel, Turkey and Egypt.
Ray plans to hold two teaching workshops in conjunction with the 100th celebration that are free and open to the public. These enlightening workshops will be held at the Pella Christian High School Vermeer auditorium on Friday, July 6 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm and on Saturday, July 7 from 10 a.m. - noon. The general topic of his workshops is: Your Kingdom Come: A Kingdom of Priests - What did Jesus' audience understand when He proclaimed the Kingdom of Heaven was near? What are the implications of his teaching for a contemporary community of Faith? How would Jesus' disciples today be a kingdom of Priests? Enter the world of Jesus for a deeper understanding of the nature of discipleship in contemporary culture.
He will also be the keynote speaker Saturday night for the 100th Celebration banquet at Pella Christian High School. The topic of his address is: God Loves a Story: Moses, Pharaoh, and Pella Christian. Tickets are available at Pella Christian Grade School for the banquet and speaker for $20 per ticket. Speaker only tickets are available for $5 per ticket.
