Eagles claim a narrow 3 set win over the Norwalk Warriors in LHC Volleyball

Pella — Pella Christian claimed a narrow win over Norwalk Oct. 2. The Eagles won three straight games by the scores of 27-25, 25-20, 25-21.

The Eagles have improved to 11-13 for the season and to 2-2 in the Little Hawkeye Conference with the win at home Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Statistical leaders for Coach Cindy Nikkel’s PC squad were Jora Vander Hart with seven kills, 12 digs and one ace serve, Madison Fopma with nine kills and Becca Gritters with 10 kills.

Tessa Howerzyl chipped in an all-around effort with five ace serves and 17 digs. Bri Warden added 16 digs and Lauren Jungling had 34 assists, two blocks that were assisted as well as one solo block for match point.

Two contests

The Eagles knocked off the Pleasantville Trojans Oct. 4, by the final score of 25-16, 25-16 and lost to the Eddyville-Blakesburg Rockets 25-13, 19-25, 15-9.

The contests were held at E-B.

The split in decisions moved the PC mark to 12-14 overall.

Leaders for PC in each match against the Trojans of Pleasantville were Taylor Hartson and Vander Hart each with five kills, Jungling with 19 assists, Bri Warden 11 digs and Howerzyl nine.

Daphni Yarkosky had three ace serves and Jungling added two.

In the loss to E-B, PC was paced by Gritters with nine kills and Jungling with 15 assists.

Warden led in digs with 12 and Vander Hart had 11 against the Rockets. Logan De Graaf topped the Eagle charts with three blocks and Vander Hart had four ace serves.
