Pella —
The NCMP (Newton, Colfax-Mingo, Pella) High School Swim Team was third at the Valley Tiger Tanker Saturday.
The squad finished ahead of Cedar Rapids Washington, Lewis Central Council Bluffs and Sioux City Metro. Teams that were ahead of the NCMP squad were Valley and Waukee.
Several of the Pella High swimmers turned in strong results.
Samantha Hedrick was fourth in the 50 freestyle with a clocking of 25.90 with Jeannie Etnyre 16th at 28.87.
Sara Martin was sixth in the 100 butterfly at 1:08.33.
Hedrick added a third place finish in the 100 free at 55.45.
Kira Hanson and Sara Martin each swam on the 200 Medley B Relay squad that was 10th at 2:04.30.
In the 100 back, Hanson was 16th at 1:09.87 and Martin was eighth in the 100 breast at 1:18.72.
Hedrick helped the NCMP 200 Freestyle A Relay team to a second place showing at 1:44.44.
Etnyre and Martin were on the 200 Free B Relay team that was ninth.
Hedrick also was on the 400 Free Relay A team that was third with a time of 3:47.93. Hanson was one of four people on the 400 Free Relay B squad that was ninth with a clocking of 4:13.94.
