Pella Christian reached the championship round of the Knoxville Volleyball Invitational Saturday.
The Eagles were 2-1 in pool play with a 21-14, 21-17 win over Grinnell and a 21-7, 18-21, 15-11 win over Perry. PC lost to ADM 21-13, 17-21, 12-15 in pool play.
In the championship round of the tournament the Eagles lost to Iowa Falls 14-25, 17-25.
Iowa Falls went on to beat ADM in the championship match 25-14, 25-14.
PC’s mark stands at 15-17 entering post season play.
PC Leaders
In the win over the Grinnell Tigers PC was paced by Becca Gritters with nine kills and Jora Vander Hart with seven.
Lauren Jungling finished with 17 assists and Bri Warden had 12 digs and Tess Howerzyl eight.
Vander Hart added four ace serves and Jungling had three.
In the victory over Perry the Eagles had six kills each from Vander Hart and Gritters.
Jungling had 17 assists, Warden 15 digs, Vander Hart 10 and Howerzyl nine. Logan De Graaf had three blocks in the match.
In the ADM contest the Eagles had eight kills from Gritters, 19 assists by Jungling and 22 digs by Warden and 11 from Vander Hart.
Maddie Fopma led at the net with three blocks.
Iowa Falls beat the Eagles in the championship round. PC was paced by Gritters with six kills, Vander Hart with 15 digs and Warden 14.
