Buchheit hits 19 in win

Nathan Buchheit scored 15 points in the second and third quarters combined as the Pella Dutch beat the Grinnell Tigers 51-39 in Little Hawkeye Conference play Friday night at home.

Buchheit led all scorers in the contest with 19. Blaine Forsythe added 15 points and Matt Dowie tossed in seven as No. 9 Pella improved to 10-1 in the conference and to 12-2 overall.

Grinnell received 13 points from Darrin Chitwood and nine by Brian Kramer in the game.

The Tigers slipped to 3-8 in the LHC with the loss.

A 13-0 run by Pella that started in the third quarter broke open a tight game. Buchheit had seven straight points, during the run.

Up Next

The Dutch travel to Knoxville Friday to face the Panthers in a girl-boy doubleheader starting at 6:15 p.m.
