OSKALOOSA — The Wood Iron Grille will mark its final day of business on Friday. The new Elmhurst Grille will open on April 17, and looks to continue the tradition of high-quality service and menu items.

While owners Michael Glesener and Matthew Gunn are transitioning out of the business, the rest of the team is continuing on with the Elmhurst Grille.

“We’re super thankful for our employees and our customers and are grateful for the huge outpouring of support over the past several weeks,” said Glesener. “It’s been a real joy and honor to be a part of serving this community.”

EVOLVE Hospitality President Matt Jacobs said, “We’re looking forward to continuing to offer fare that customers know and love, with minor revisions to add a new spin to the menu. As we get started, we’ll first focus on great food and great service. In the coming months, we’ll work through interior updates and the dining experience. We’re known for the hospitality we deliver – and we can’t wait to add some personal touches to the new Elmhurst Grille.”

Glesener, Gunn and Jacobs explained the short transition timeline. On Wednesday, the State of Iowa approved a liquor license for the new Elmhurst Grille. With that approval, the Wood Iron Grille liquor license expires on Sunday and the Elmhurst Grille license is in effect beginning on Monday. The few days the restaurant is closed will allow for a full change over in ownership and training. As shared previously, gift certficates will contnue to be honored at the Elmhurst Grille.
